The trail to a Cub Scout begins as a Bobcat no matter what age the Cub Scout.  

A Bobcat will learn and say the Cub Scout Promise:

I, [boy's name], promise to do my best To do my duty to God and my country, To help other people, and To obey the Law of the Pack.

The Bobcat will know the Law of the Pack:

The Cub Scout follows the Akela.  The Cub Scout helps the pack go.  The pack helps the Cub Scout grow.  The Cub Scout gives good will.

The Bobcat will know the secret meaning of Weblos, show the Cub Scout sign, handshake, salute and know the motto Do you best.
